A few weeks ago I posted a picture on Instagram Stories of some decorated fairy cakes saying that I had been making cakes with Millie – well, I said “making”, I really meant decorating pre-made cakes. You may call it cheating. I call it being smart.

I’ve said it before, I am NOT a baker. I would much rather pay someone who is good at it to do it for me, rather than put myself through the stress, time and undoubtedly, disappointment when it doesn’t turn out the way I imagined.

This got me thinking about outsourcing in business – specifically web design.
Like baking, you can buy all the components and equipment you need to design a website, but unless you know how to put it all together properly, or invest the time it takes to learn and perfect the craft, you may not get the results you were hoping for.

Investing in a website designer is exactly that; an investment. Your website is your online shop front – and in the current climate, many businesses only shop front! It allows customers to find out WHO you are, WHAT you do and HOW you can help them solve their problems.

All web designers have different strengths, capabilities and styles, so it’s worth spending some time looking at portfolio’s and talking to designers to ensure that the person you invest with, is right for your business.

If you’re looking for a website designer to help boost your business online presence and start attracting your ideal customers, take a look at my portfolio at some of the other small businesses I have worked with, and if you like what you see, drop me an email and we can chat about how I can help you.

I’m off to eat cake – that I didn’t make, again 🧁
